- In Salesforce you can specify which currencies your organization uses and individual users can apply specific currencies to their settings
- By default, Salesforce organizations use a single currency
- Once you set the required currency locale in your company settings, all currency values on record display in that currency
- Admins set that “corporate currency,” which reflects the currency of corporate headquarters
- Once “multicurrency” is enabled, it can’t be disabled. It enables you to:
- Activate additional currencies and select a new corporate currency
- Ensure users have correct personal currencies
- Make sure users use the correct currency when creating new records
Activate Currencies
- Enable via Setup > Quick Find > “Company Information” > Company Information > Edit > Activate Multiple Currencies
- This makes the “Currency Setup” button show up on the “Company Information” page
- Before adding new currencies to your company settings, you must activate the multicurrency option for your org
- Enabling Advanced Currency Managment enables your org to manage dated exchange rates
- With multicurrency setup and currencies added to your company settings, users can select a personal currency
