Describe the capabilities of the Salesforce Mobile App.
Describe the installation and synchronization options of Salesforce Lightning for Outlook.
Desktop and Mobile Administration Introduction
- “Going Mobile” is available on the Setup Home page
- Also available via Setup > Quick Find > Salesforce Mobile Quick Start
Mobile Quick Start Wizard
- Involves a series of setup steps: Navigation, Actions, Compact Layout, Review, Invite
- New name: Salesforce Mobile replaces old name Salesforce 1
- A “Salesforce 1 Emulator” plug in is available for chrome, which allows admins to emulate a mobile device and see how the mobile app would actually function
Global Actions
- Access Global Actions via Setup > Quick Find > “Global Actions” > Global Actions
- Global Actions are commonly used on Mobile devices
Object Specific Quick Actions
- These are set up in the Object Manager, on the “Buttons, Links, and Actions” section for each object
- Actions can have predefined values set up - a big part of their “magic”
Configuring Actions on Page Layouts
- There are often multiple actions with the same label (multiple “Log a Call,” for example) - need to reference API names to see which packages these come from, which is which, etc.
Salesforce Mobile Apps
- SalesforceA: admins only, different from standard Salesforce mobile app
Salesforce Lightning for Outlook Installation and Synchronization
- Access via: Setup > Quick Find > “Outlook” > Outlook Integration and Sync
- Can give users the ability to create cases from Outlook, for example
- Help Article Overview
- Things such as Contacts, Events, Tasks can sync Outlook to Salesforce, or Salesforce to Outlook, or both.
- Can decide which system “wins”
- Lets users access Salesforce records from Outlook
